How to use
the French keyboard layout
The following instructions will make sense after
you have printed the French keyboard layout picture.
After you have set your keyboard to the French layout
(see the the document "Setting up the French
keyboard layout"):

To get the apostrophe press simultaneously the
SHIFT key with the key right of the letter M;

To use the third character (see the French keyboard
layout below) displayed on some of the keys, press the AltCar key on the
right hand side of the spacebar simultaneously with the key you need;

To put the "accent grave", press the key left
of the Enter key and then press the vowel (don't press simultaneously)

To put the "accent circonflexe", press the key
right of the letter P key and then press the letter (don't press simultaneously)
â, ê, î, ô, û, Â,
Ê, Î, Ô, Û;

To put "tréma", press simultaneously SHIFT
and the second key to the right of the letter P and then press the vowel
(don't press simultaneously)

To put the "cédille" under the letter
C, press the second key to the right of the letter P and then press the
letter C (don't press simultaneously)
**You
get the accents on capital letters the same way as the lower case. You
need, however, to press simultaneously the SHIFT key with the letter you
need to have uppercase, as you would do in English...
